Construction begins at former Black Pearl Homes site

Taylor Wimpey and Barratt Homes are gearing up to begin construction on the site off Broken Stone Road in Feniscowles, in the next few weeks. The eyesore site received outline permission for up to 450 new homes in July, 2019 after a long history of failed schemes including a golf course and a holiday village. The land has also been blighted by fly tipping. Taylor Wimpey and Barratt Homes will deliver 225 properties each on the site previously owned by Black Pearl Homes.”

Black Pearl Homes delivered an outline planning application on the site following its acquisition by Black Pearl Capital in 2017. The site was subsequently sold to Taylor Wimpey in 2022. Black Pearl Capital CEO Reza Irani-Kermani commented: “We are proud to have been able to take a blighted site with several failed attempts at development and bring it forward for the benefit of the wider community. The section 106 contributions that we negotiated for this development will go a long way to supporting local education needs among other critical elements such as affordable housing.
